What is Hyfosy testing?

Hyfosy (hysterosalpino-foam sonogram) is an office procedure that is performed to examine the uterine cavity and check the fallopian tubes. We use Exem Foam and take advantage of the fact that the foam is visible on ultrasound as it fills the uterine cavity and traverses the fallopian tubes.  This procedure may help to determine the cause of a woman's infertility or abnormal bleeding.  For women with uterine fibroids, Hyfosy is helpful to determine whether the fibroids have entered the uterine cavity.   Hyfosy has been shown to be as accurate as a traditional HSG (hysterosalpingogram, done in a radiology department) and to be more tolerable in terms of pain and anxiety.  I am very happy to offer this option to patients at Bloom Fertility.
